Summertime

Imagine yourself lying under a tree on a summer day after eating delicious ice cream. This quilt was made as part of a Cambridge Modern Quilt Guild challenge to make mini quilts for a local ice cream shop, using a circle or half-circle motif and only three colors. This whole cloth quilt uses the seed stitch in different shades of green and blue thread to create a canopy of leaves against a blue sky.
Summertime was selected to exhibit at Quiltcon 2026 in the small quilt category.
